I am writing to you with special thanks and compliments to one of your instructors. I recently obtained my PADI Open Water Certification through eLearning and Maximum Scuba in Seabrook Texas. The instructor I wish to compliment is Patrick Keller. I will complete the online survey as I always want to provide feedback whenever possible, but in this particular case I feel that I should go above and beyond such a survey to show my sincere appreciation for this instructor and the many reasons he impressed me. First of all, diving is obviously about doing something you love and PADI often emphasizes that you must have a mature attitude and yet it should be fun! In my opinion Patrick is the embodiment of this idea. He is obviously deeply committed and knows the material down to the itty-bitty details, and when he talks about this knowledge you know he is serious, but then he lightens up the room and makes everyone laugh! I think this attitude is very important in any classroom, but especially when you are learning about something that is a wonderful adventure, but without knowledge it could turn hazardous quickly. His ability to make people laugh, and lighten the atmosphere enables the student to not feel intimidated to ask a question – even one that might appear to be silly in front of the class. He gives everyone an amazing comfort level, he imparts knowledge with antidotes of experience and humor – often very humble words of hard earned experience. Patrick is a wonderful addition to the staff of Maximum Scuba of Seabrook Texas, and fantastic ambassador for the PADI organization, and a wonderful mentor. Please make sure that he gets this note from me, and tell him that “I am watching” (inside Joke).
