PADI Rescue Diver classes | Houston diving school

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences—that's what the PADI Rescue Diver Course is all about. This course is designed to enhance your skills and confidence, preparing you to handle emergency situations and assist other divers in distress. You can enroll right after earning your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or your PADI Open Water diver class. The Rescue Diver Course builds upon what you’ve already learned, focusing on prevention and management of dive emergencies. You'll gain priceless in-water experience and knowledge with one of our experienced Scuba instructors in Houston.

• PADI Open Water Divers with a scuba license and ready to learn rescue skills.
• PADI Advanced Open Water Divers ready to elevate their scuba diving skills.
• Divers in reasonably good health, want to take scuba diving lessons and who can complete a scuba medical form.
• Must be at least 12 years old. Young divers may have specific limitations. 

In this course, you will:

• Develop skills in self-rescue and diver stress recognition.
• Learn how to manage emergency situations and provide emergency care.
• Practice equipment and gear checks, along with advanced rescue techniques.
• Conduct realistic rescue scenarios to hone your problem-solving abilities and quick thinking.

You will complete various rescue exercises and scenarios that cover:

• Recognizing and responding to diver emergencies.
• Rescuing panicked and unresponsive divers.
• Managing diving accidents and emergency oxygen delivery.

You'll use standard scuba gear (BCD, regulator, gauges) and snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins). Additionally, you will utilize specialized rescue gear, such as:

• Pocket masks
• Surface marker buoys (SMBs)
• Emergency oxygen units
